Lotte outfielder Kim Min-seok, 19, became the eighth high school rookie in history to reach the 100-hit plateau.
Kim batted eighth and started in center field in Lotte's home game against Doosan at Sajik Stadium in Busan on Nov. 11, going 4-for-6 with a home run, two RBIs and one run scored to lead the team to a 14-3 victory. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 10-3 lead, Kim lined an infield single to third base off Doosan reliever Je Hwan-yu to record his second four-hit game of the season and complete his 100-hit season. Kim became the eighth high school rookie to record triple-digit hits in his rookie season, joining Kim Jae-hyun (LG-134) in 1994, Lee Seung-yeop (Samsung-104) in 1995, Park Jin-man (Hyundai-102) in 1996, Jung Sung-hoon (Hae-tae-107) in 1999, Lee Jung-hoo (Nexen-179) in 2017, Kang Baek-ho (KT-153) in 2018 and Moon Hyun-bin (Hanwha-109 through 11 days) in 2023. "I was able to hit 100 hits because I was able to continue playing baseball for a season without getting injured," Kim said after the game, "and it was possible because of the managers and coaches who believed in me and let me play." Looking back on the season, Kim said, "I would like to give myself high marks for not getting injured, but I felt that I was lacking a lot overall." "I thought a lot about making up for the shortcomings in the final camp and spring training and playing good baseball again next year." In the 2023 season, there were two 100-hit hitters as high school rookies in Kim Min-seok and Moon Hyun-bin (Hanwha). The two ambitious rookies 카지노 accomplished something only six players had done before this season. Kim Min-seok said, "(Moon) Hyun-bin and I are close friends. He plays baseball so wildly and has a bad attitude," he said, adding, "I want to congratulate him again for hitting 100 hits before me." Kim had a successful debut season this season, batting .258 with three home runs, 36 RBIs, 16 doubles, and an OPS of .655 in 125 games. He also expressed his desire to play under the "Taeguk mark" in next month's Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC). Kim Min-seok said, "Of course, I'm greedy. If I am selected for the national team, it would be a great experience."
